Wix Multilingual: Troubleshooting Subdomain Issues

If you are experiencing problems with your multilingual subdomains, follow the steps below.

1. Make sure that your site is published

Your subdomains are only created if your site is published. To publish your site click Publish at the top right of the editor.

2. Make sure that secondary languages are set to 'visible'

Check that your secondary languages are set to 'visible' in the multilingual dashboard.

3. Make sure that your site has been upgraded

Your subdomains can only be connected if your site has been upgraded. To check that your site has been upgraded:

1. Go to your site's dashboard.

2. Check the plan status of your site at the top of the page.

4. Check your domain connection

Your subdomain only works if your domain is connected properly. To verify that your domain is connected properly:

1. Click to access the Domain Assistant.

2. Follow the instructions to troubleshoot your domain connection.

Important: Multilingual subdomains cannot be created for domains that are connected to Wix via pointing.

5. Wait up to 48 hours after connecting your domain

After connecting your domain, it takes up to 48 hours for the domain and its subdomains to propagate.
