Wix Editor: Changing the Page Background on Your Mobile Site

By default, your page background on the mobile version of your site is the same as the desktop background. From the mobile editor, you can change the background of your pages without affecting the desktop version.

Note:

If you set a video as your page background on desktop, it is automatically converted to an image on your mobile site.

Changing your page background on your mobile site

Choose from a color, image or video for your background on your mobile site.

To change the background:

1. Go to the relevant page in your mobile editor.

2. Click Background

   

   on the left.

3. Select a background, or click a background type:

Color

Select a color to use as your page background. You can choose from your site's colors or custom colors, or add a new one.

Image

• Select an image to add as your page's background on mobile. You can select a stock image, or upload your own. We recommend that you upload the best quality images as possible. Your image is automatically optimized to fit different screen sizes and resolutions.

1. Click Image and do one of the following:

   • Click Site Files to use your own image.

   • Click Media from Wix to choose a free stock image available from Wix.

   • Click Shutterstock or Unsplash to select a stock image.

2. Select your chosen image.

3. Click Change Background.

Video

Bring movement to your mobile site by adding a video as your page background. You can add a beautiful stock video, or upload your own.

1. Click Video on the Mobile Background panel, and do one of the following:

   • Click Site Files to use your own video as the page background.

   • Click Media from Wix to select a free stock video.

   • Click Shutterstock to set a stock video as your page background.

2. Select your chosen video.

3. Click Change Background.

FAQs

Why is my video background not playing automatically on mobile?

If Data Saver is enabled in your Chrome settings on your mobile device, or if low-power mode is enabled on your iOS device, the system / browser prevents videos from playing automatically.

Why is my background image getting cut off?

If your background image gets cut off in Preview or on your live mobile site, try using the Freeze scroll effect or cropping your mobile background image.
