Add a Facebook Like button so visitors can recommend your site to their Facebook friends. When a visitor clicks the Like button, their friends see it on Facebook, so it's a great way to drive traffic to your site.

FAQs

Click a question below for more information on Facebook Like buttons.

No. The Facebook Like button counts the site visitors that click the Like button on your site, and displays to their Facebook friends that they have Liked your site.

If you want visitors to Like your Facebook Page, you can add the Facebook Page Like box.

The Like button counter is associated with the URL address of the page it has been placed on. It is not possible to associate a Like button that already has Likes with a new URL.

Therefore, changing the URL of a page or moving the button to a different page results in losing that page's existing Likes.

Facebook has changed some of its policies to prevent "fake likes" and like-fraud. As a result, some Likes require confirmation.

You can learn more about Facebook's policies on their Keeping You Safe from Scams and Spam page.

Facebook improvements to the Like button API automatically remove Likes gained by malware, compromised accounts, deceived users, or purchased bulk likes.

If you noticed a decrease in the number of Likes on a specific page, contact Facebook regarding this matter. You can raise an issue with Facebook by contacting the Facebook Help Center.

The number of Likes in the Editor are different to the number of Likes on your live site as they are associated with different URLs.

The Like button inside the Editor is intended as an example only, and does not represent the actual number of Likes. It is therefore not possible to "Like" the page from within your Editor.
