⚡ TL;DR Team bills are based on seats, standard or premium. Adding seats or upgrading is prorated immediately; removing members gives no refund but frees the seat. Cards only, no ACH.

Clear rules. 💳

💺 How Claude Team Plan Billing Works

Bills are based on how many seats you hold, and seat type, standard or premium, affects the per-seat cost. Charges happen at the start of each cycle.

➗ Proration

How changes are billed:

  • ➕ Adding members: immediate prorated charge

  • ⬆️ Upgrading standard to premium: prorated for the rest of the period

  • ➖ Removing members: no refund, but the seat can be reassigned

💳 Payments and Invoices

Team plans accept credit, debit and prepaid cards, not ACH bank transfers. Owners update billing in Organization settings, Billing, and download invoices there; invoices are also emailed.

💡 Pro tip Reassign seats from departing staff instead of removing them; you've already paid for them.

🏛️ Tax-Exempt Status

It can't be set at signup, but you can send verification to Support after subscribing.
