Claude Session Security: Set How Long Users Stay Signed In
Updated: 1 day ago
⚡ TL;DR Admins can cap how long users stay signed in: 1, 7, 14 or 28 days on Enterprise, and 1, 3 or 7 days in the Console. Users must sign in again when the limit is reached.
Security teams often require shorter sign-in periods for business tools. Claude session security settings give admins exactly that control.

🔐 Claude Session Security Options
The available session limits depend on where you manage access:
🏢 Enterprise: 1, 7, 14 or 28 days
🛠️ Claude Console: 1, 3 or 7 days
👤 Who Can Configure It
Enterprise Owners and Admins can set the session length for their organization, and Console Admins can set it for the Console.
⚙️ What Happens When You Enable It
Users must sign in again once the limit is reached, even if they are actively working. Enabling the setting expires older sessions immediately, and turning it off returns to the default activity-based behavior.
💡 Pro tip Announce the change before enabling it; everyone with an older session will be signed out right away.
🚀 Choosing the Right Limit
Shorter limits suit regulated industries and shared devices; longer limits reduce friction for small teams on managed laptops.
