Incognito chats are temporary conversations kept out of your chat history and Claude's memory. They are available on all plans.

Open a new chat outside any project and click the ghost icon in the upper right corner.
🔒 What Stays Private
The rules are simple:
🚫 They don't appear in history and can't be reopened once closed
🧠 They don't use existing memory or create new memories
🎓 They are never used for training
🗓️ They are kept for 30 days by default, or longer under Enterprise settings
💡 Pro tip Copy anything you need before closing an incognito chat; you can't reopen it later.
📁 Inside Projects
Incognito mode isn't available inside projects. There you can turn off memory instead.
