👥 How Claude Enterprise Groups Work

Groups organize members by team or department and control their spend limits and access. Create them manually in Organization settings or sync them from your identity provider; SCIM imports direct memberships only, not nested groups.

💳 Group Spend Limits

A group spend limit sets a shared per-user monthly cap for all members. Individual limits override group limits, and an admin setting decides whether the higher or lower limit wins for members in several groups.

🪣 Pooled Group Budgets

A pooled budget is one shared monthly amount the whole group draws from. It isn't split equally, and each request counts against both the pool and the member's limit.

💡 Pro tip Start a pool near three times last month's group spend and set member limits based on the top spender.

🚀 Setting It Up

Set pools under Organization settings, Usage, starting from last month's actual group spend.
