Claude Desktop runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, with Linux still in beta. Requirements are macOS 13 or later, Windows 10 or later, or a recent Ubuntu or Debian release.

Setup takes a couple of minutes:
🍎 Mac and Windows: download the installer from the Claude downloads page and open it
🐧 Linux: add Anthropic's apt repository and install with apt
On Linux the app doesn't update itself; updates come through your normal system package upgrades.
