2 min read
⚡ TL;DR When no connector or browser fits, Claude can operate your computer directly. It's a Pro and Max beta on macOS and Windows, asks before each app, and has no sandbox, so keep sensitive apps closed.

Some apps have no API. Claude computer use lets Claude work them the way you do.

Overview. 🖱️

🖱️ What Claude Computer Use Is

Claude clicks, types and opens apps on your computer, in Cowork and Claude Code inside the desktop app, when no connector or browser option fits.

📋 Availability

Beta for Pro and Max on macOS and Windows. Team and Enterprise don't have access yet.

✅ Permissions

Claude asks approval before using each app, and some apps are blocked by default. On macOS 15 or later it can work in background windows and asks before taking the full screen.

💡 Pro tip Close password managers, banking and email before starting a computer-use task.

⚠️ Safety Limits

There's no sandbox, and Claude sees anything on screen. Safeguards aren't perfect, and your computer must stay awake with the app open.

Claude computer use fills the gaps connectors leave. Want desktop automations? Lord Of The Wix can build them safely. ✨
