Claude Artifacts: Turn AI Chats into Docs, Decks and Tools
Updated: 22 hours ago
⚡ TL;DR Claude Artifacts turn a chat answer into a standalone document, deck, design or interactive tool that opens beside the conversation, stays editable, and can be shared when it is ready.
Most AI answers die in the chat. You copy them into a doc, fix the formatting, and the moment you need a change you start over. Claude Artifacts solve that by turning the output itself into a living file that sits next to the conversation.
We use them daily at Lord Of The Wix for client proposals, landing page drafts and quick internal tools. Here is what they are and how to get real work out of them. 🛠️
🧩 What Are Claude Artifacts?
An artifact is a standalone piece of work Claude creates for you: a document, a slide deck, a design, or an interactive tool. Instead of a long reply you scroll past, it opens in its own panel beside the chat, where you can keep editing it and come back to it later.

From a chat message to a finished document, deck or tool.
Claude Artifacts are available on every plan, from Free through Enterprise, and also inside Claude Code on supported plans.
📦 Types of Claude Artifacts
Artifacts come from ready-made templates, so the format is right from the first draft:
📝 Docs: reports, proposals, briefs and long-form writing
🎞️ Slides: presentations and pitch decks
🎨 Design: visual layouts, posters and page mockups
📊 Dashboards: live metric views, in beta on paid plans
🎬 Motion: short animated pieces, in beta on Team and Enterprise
Docs, Slides and Design are switched on by default for everyone.
✏️ Creating and Editing Artifacts
You can start an artifact by simply asking for one in any chat, or by picking a template in the Artifacts tab. Editing is flexible:
💬 Ask Claude in the chat to rewrite, restructure or extend it
⌨️ Edit template-based artifacts directly, like a normal document
🎯 Highlight a specific passage and ask for a targeted change
💡 Pro tip Ask for the structure first (headings or slide titles only), approve it, then let Claude fill it in. It is faster and keeps the result on brief.
🔗 Sharing Claude Artifacts
Every artifact starts private, so you can iterate freely. When it is ready, you share it with colleagues or clients. Older legacy artifacts still open and can still be published, but new work is created with the current templates.
One practical limit to know: data an artifact stores is capped at 20 MB per artifact and must be text, not uploaded files.
🚀 How Agencies Use Claude Artifacts
The real win is turning repeat work into repeatable outputs:
1️⃣ Proposal and audit reports as Docs that clients can comment on
2️⃣ Pitch decks built from a call summary in minutes
3️⃣ Small calculators and checklists as interactive tools for a client site
4️⃣ Weekly KPI views as Dashboards instead of screenshots in email
Claude Artifacts close the gap between an AI answer and a finished deliverable. Want this built into your team's workflow? Lord Of The Wix sets up AI production pipelines on every platform. ✨
