Wix Blog: Troubleshooting Issues on Your Live Site

If your Wix Blog isn’t loading correctly on your live site, clearing your browser’s cache and cookies can usually fix the issue. Follow these troubleshooting steps to refresh your blog and see the latest changes.

Step 1 | Open your blog page in an Incognito window

We recommend trying to open your blog page in an Incognito window. Select the browser you are using from the list below.

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard (Cmd + Shift + N on Mac).

Cache and Cookies

If this solves the issue, make sure you complete step 2 and 3 to clear your browser cache and cookies. This should allow your browser to open as normal.

Step 2 | Clear your cache

To clear your cache, follow the steps below and then select the relevant browser from the list below to view the remaining steps.

  1. Close all windows and tabs of your browser.

  2. Open a new tab, ensuring Wix.com is not open.

  3. Follow the steps for your browser below:

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Del (press Cmd + Shift + Delete using a Mac).

  2. Click the Time range drop-down and select All time.

  3. Make sure the box is checked next to Cached images and files.

  4. Click Clear data.

  1. Close and reopen Chrome.

Step 3 | Clear your cookies

Next, clear your cookies. This can be done every once in a while to help maintain optimum browser performance. Select the browser you are using from the list below.

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Click the More actions  iconin the top right corner.

  3. Click Delete Browsing Data.

  4. Click the Time range drop-down and select the range of time.

  5. Select Cookies and other site data.

  6. Click Delete Data.

Why is my blog post flickering and disappearing?

This may be caused by a glitch or delay. To help solve this, we recommend trying the following:

This may be caused by a local network issue, such as your firewall or DNS settings. To help solve this, we recommend trying the following steps:

  1. Make sure your router’s DNS settings are correct. Learn how to check your DNS settings.

  2. Review your firewall settings to confirm nothing is blocking your blog.

  3. Contact your internet service provider for assistance.

Why is my blog showing a 404 error?

This can happen if your blog isn’t linked to your site’s navigation menu or if the blog app isn’t installed correctly. To help solve this, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Go to your site editor and make sure your blog appears in the navigation menu.

  2. Publish your changes.

  3. If your blog is still missing, try deleting Wix Blog and re-adding the app to your site.

Why is my website slow to load on mobile or desktop?

Long loading times can happen if your images are too large, your content isn’t optimized, or you’re using too many third-party apps. To speed up your blog loading time, we recommend trying the following:

How do I check if the issue is with my browser or my site?

Try opening your blog in a different browser or device, or use an incognito or private window. If your blog loads correctly, the issue may be caused by your browser’s cached data.
